Season Series: Sox lead, 4-2

All I can say is that was some series. It had a little bit of everything, from another incredible CocoCatch to a triple by lumbering Captain Jason Varitek.

Throw in a comedic triple by Manny, a Jekyll & Hyde performance from Julian Tavarez, a catastrophic three games by the Texas bullpen, and mushrooms growing in the outfield grass due to all the precipitation and it all added up to a strange and psychedelic Southwest swing for the Sox.

The good news for Boston continues to pour in from all angles. With the Sox' sweep and the Stanks getting swept at home by the Angels, Boston now enjoys a mammoth 12.5 game lead on the Feeble Empire, rendering next weekend's series in Fenway another meaningless meeting of two baseball teams.

Throw in the fact that old friend Trot Nixon & the Cleveland Indians come to Fenway for a 3-gamer before the New York series, and it's obvious Boston will be playing at the top off their game throughout the week.

To top it all off Josh Beckett is set to come off the DL and pitch tomorrow night at Fenway, and it's good times all around for RSN.

As for the Rangers, they're now proud owners of the worst record in the AL and second worst in baseball, with only a half game separating them and the Reds from the title of Baseball's Worst Team.

The Sox will see the Rangers once more this season, at the end of June in Fenway.

Until then it looks like they will continue to play like two teams headed in opposite directions.
